Vincent Enyeama Rules Out Return To Super Eagles

With reports making waves in the media that the interim National team handler, Samson Siasia will  recall the veteran Vincent Enyeama back to the team following the resignation of Oliseh, the former Super Eagles has made it clear that he will not be returning to the team.

Samson Siasia was quoted to have said that the coaching crew will go for the best legs the country can offer for the two-legged Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Egypt next month.

“We will look at the players we believe can help the team, including Vincent Enyeama and Emmanuel Emenike who retired from the team last year.”

But speaking on BrilaFm, Enyeama responded to the speculation saying:

“I don’t want to talk about this issue again. I think my earlier decision stands.”

Enyeama left  the National team which he had served close to 17 years on October 8, 2015 after a clash with coach Sunday Oliseh in Belgium.

Similarly West Ham FC striker, Emmanuel Emenike has also revealed that he is no longer interested in playing for the Super Eagles, and has no intentions to rejoin the team now or in the future.

Emenike left team last year, after reports emerged that he won’t be invited for the World Cup qualifiers with Swaziland because of his goal drought.

Sunday Oliseh resigned last Friday, barely eight month after he was appointed. Oliseh who signed a three-year deal in July 2015, succeeding Stephen Keshi, who was sacked at the start of July 2015 took to his twitter account to announce his resignation, which he claimed was due to ‘contract violation, lack of support and unpaid wages.’

“I feel fortunate, blessed and eternally grateful for having had the honour to play, captain and coach this great nation of ours, Nigeria. Due to contract violations, lack of support, unpaid wages, benefits to my players, Assistant Coaches and myself, I resign as Super Eagles Chief Coach,” he twitted.

Meanwhile, Chairman of Technical and Development Committee of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Chris Green revealed that the Eagles’ handler have been directed to submit their programme for the qualifiers against Egypt.

According to Green, the NFF is expecting the programme latest by Thursday this week. The programme will contain the team list and other things the coaches believe will give them success against Hector Cuper’s men.
