Olakunle Churchill is a Nigerian businessman and philanthropist best known as the former husband of Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh aka King Tonto.
Though a native of Ogun state, Churchill was born and brought up in Ondo state, Nigeria. Although he was already an established businessman before his involvement with Tonto, he may never have gained the popularity he now enjoys if not for his relationship with the actress.

Olakunle Churchill Is From the Yoruba Tribe in Nigeria
Olakunle Churchill was born on the 27th of December, 1982, in Ondo state to an average family. He hails from Ogun State and his native language is Yoruba. His mother is also from the western state of Ondo while his father is from Ogun state. Churchill was raised by his grandmother, Reverend Dr. Wuruola, who is a pastor, a philanthropist, and a school principal.
Churchill is An Adopted Son of Olusegun Obasanjo
Olakunle was adopted by his father’s boss, Olusegun Obasanjo. His biological father worked as a gardener for the former president who was generous and kind to him. Extending this kindness to Churchill, Obasanjo adopted him and treated him as his own son afterwards. This helped the young man in no small way to become the successful man he is today.
He Studied both in Nigeria and Abroad
Olakunle Churchil had his early education in Ondo, Lagos, and Ogun state. He had his nursery and primary school education at Canon Adeyemi Nursery and Primary school, Ondo. For his secondary education, he partly attended Apata Memorial Secondary School, Isolo, Lagos, and later completed his senior secondary education at the Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Subsequently, he had the opportunity of enrolling in the Nigerian Defense Academy to become a Military officer but changed his mind. He rather proceeded to Don Bosco, India where he studied Information Technology. Years later, precisely in June 2016, ISCG University in the Republic of Benin, awarded him an honorary Doctorate Degree.
Olakunle Churchill Married Tonto Dike in 2015
The businessman met Tonto Dike, one of the renowned Nigerian actresses, in a nightclub in 2014. They became friends and later fell in love with each other and started dating. After 6 months, Tonto Dike became pregnant for Churchill and they eventually tied the knots traditionally in 2015. By the following year, the couple was blessed with a son.
His Marriage to the Actress Was Short-Lived
Mr. Churchill’s marriage to the Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh, was admired by many. Unfortunately, it could not stand the test of time as it ended in the year 2017, just two years after they tied the knot. The reason for the divorce ranges from infidelity to physical abuse.
Tonto Dike alleged that Churchill was cheating on her with Rosy Meurer, his P.A., as he was buying her gifts and taking her on trips. This, in addition to other issues, led to the dissolution of the two-year-old marriage.
His Second Marriage to Rosy Gave Rise to Many Controversies
After his divorce from Tonto, Churchill married his P.A., Rosy Meurer, a Gambian-born Nollywood actress with whom he now has a son. Rosy, who previously worked as an ambassador to Big Churchill Foundation and Motherhood Project, had been accused by Tonto of being a husband snatcher. But she denied the allegations, stating that Churchill was more like a brother to her.
However, it was made clear that they don’t share any blood relationship and have known each other for many years, but not in the angle it was portrayed when their relationship became legalized by the marital union. According to her, she did not snatch anyone’s husband, it just happened naturally and they ended up married.
Before getting involved with Churchill romantically, Rosy had been in a different relationship, but Churchill cared for her and her siblings as a brother before destiny took a different turn and they became a couple.
Olakunle Churchill Has Two Children From His Two Marriages
Churchill’s marriage to his ex-wife, Tonto Dikeh, produced a son named Andre Omodayo Oladunni Dike on February 17th, 2016, while his union with his Gambian-Nigerian current wife, Rosy, produced Omoniyi who was born on the 2nd of March 2021.
He is a good father to both his sons. Olakunle is always there for his children on their special days. He once gifted Andre a 2016 GMC Yukon XL among other things. Although Tonto has removed his last name from their son’s name and replaced it with hers, Churchill is still there for his son.
Churchill is the Founder and CEO of Churchill Group
Mr. Churchill kicked off his career in Ghana in 2005 when he was just 23, founding the Big Churchill, a real estate and ICT company. Five years later, he established the Churchill Group, which succeeded his former company. The Churchill Group launched in agriculture, mining, engineering, and entertainment.
Olakunle’s Agriculture business comprises E-Agric, an online E-learning platform for the development of modern agriculture, as well as physical farms located in Ondo, Akure, and Abuja. He also has a school where about 500 students are trained on the E-Agric platform.
The businessman has also mentioned his intention of expanding his farming business to all states in Nigeria. Meanwhile, The Big Church business has also spread to some other countries , including Ghana, Switzerland, and England.
He is Also A Well Known Philanthropist
Olakunle Churchill established a foundation known as the Churchill Foundation, a charity organization where he gives out 10% of the entire fund generated from all his companies and businesses to help the society and the needy.
The foundation is well known for caring for and protecting women and children by taking care of people with disabilities and working towards protecting the human rights of marginalized people in the society. Thanks to the foundation, a many ambulances and hospital equipment have been given out to hospitals for humanitarian services. The foundation has positively impacted thousands of lives and is still in the business of helping people.
