Speaking on the health of the president, Yakubu Dogara, said there is tremendous improvement and also urged Nigerians to continue to pray for the safe return of the President.
“Today we visited His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari. I am glad that he is doing well.
“His health has improved tremendously. I urge all Nigerians to continue to pray and offer thanks to God for answered prayers and for the safe return of Mr. President.”
The visit by Dogara and Saraki is the latest, coming five days after President Buhari’s media team paid him a visit at the Abuja House, London.
President Buhari on Saturday had received members of his media team, at the Abuja House in London where he reassured them that there was tremendous improvement in his health.
The presidential media team was led by Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture, accompanied by Mr. Femi Adesina, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity and Malam Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity.
Other members of the team on the trip included Lauretta Onochie, Personal Assistant on Digital/Online Media and Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Senior Special Assistant on Diaspora Matters.
On July 23, some APC leaders led by the Party’s National Chairman, John Oyegun, had visited the president in London.
After the visit, Governor Rochas Okorocha, who spoke on behalf of the delegation, said the president was in high spirits, and that he laughed about the rumours regarding his health.
“By our visit to London today, the merchants of lies have been put out of business and Nigerians will not buy the garbage they have been selling. All those who look up to fake news can find a better use for their time,” he had said.
President Buhari has been in the UK where he is receiving medical treatment since May 7 and has spent more than 100 days outside the country.
His absence from the country has, however, triggered a number of reactions, including a couple of protests by some citizens under the auspices of “Resume or Resign” group led by Nigerian Musician Charly Boy.
Reacting to the call for Mr. President to resign, the Personal Assistant to the President on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie said the demand for President Buhari to disclose his health status was disrespectful, adding that Buhari’s absence has not affected governance in Nigeria because he handed over to his vice, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, in accordance with the law.
