Following the death of the Nigerian producer and singer, OJB’s wife, Mabel Babatunde Okungbowa, amidst tears, grants an interview to pressmen.
OJB passed on yesterday, 14th June, at the age of 49 due to kidney failure. In 2013, the late producer was flown to India for a kidney transplant and his first wife, Mabel fondly called ‘Mama J’ was the one who donated one of her kidneys to save his life.

In an exclusive chat with TheNETng, the aforementioned OJB’s wife, said she does not regret donating her kidney, even though her husband died at the end. She also shared the last moments of OJB saying;
“It wasn’t really dramatic, it was just the normal signs we see when he’s about going for his dialysis but this time he was in a lot of pains and I was by his side all through.
“This was all so sudden because we were still speaking about plans for his 50th birthday over the weekend.
“I don’t regret giving him my kidney, I did it because I wanted to. I wasn’t forced to do it. After all, he’s my husband, so I don’t regret it.”
The Delta-born producer, until his death was married to three wives. He had eight children by them and they all live together at his home in Surulere. His first wife, Mabel has three children for him.
OJB’s wife number two, June, otherwise known as Ama, also has three children for him. She is a singer and all her songs were produced by her husband.
His third wife, Korede, is a popular dancer and a graduate of Olabisi Onabanjo University. The young lady, who has two children for OJB, has featured in a lot of musical videos as a dancer in early 2000s.
Korede, who used to be Ruggedman’s official dancer, currently manages a catering outlet with the brand name, Kokomo, a pet name given to her by OJB.
OJB Jezreel had his last interview on June 12, 2016, with TheNetNg, where he revealed his plans of celebrating his 50th birthday, scheduled for July 4th.
In the interview, he spoke about his achievements in life, stating that he has no regret marrying three wives.
“Well, I have three wives and eight children. My first son is a graduate of UNILAG, the second child is in her second year, my 3rd child is in OAU studying Mass Communication and the others are all still in school.
“I look at them and see them as my proud achievements not the Bentleys and Rolls Royce.”
