How A Man Brutally Murdered His Family Of Four In Yobe

A murder suspect identified as Adamu Mai Bisco, on Monday brutally murdered his family consisting of his father, mother, and two sisters in cold blood, at Batayya ward in Potiskum town of Yobe state.

The family members killed were his father Malam Magaji Mai-Bisco, 65; Mother, Mama Ado, 50; sisters Aisha, 16; and Zainab,14. Confirming the incident, Police in Yobe attributed the action of the suspect to being under the influence of hard drugs.

Police Public Relation Officer in Yobe State, ASP Toyin Gbadegesin, explained the four victims were murdered in their sleep with a shovel without being provoked before a distress call to the police led to arrest of the suspect.

Though the 20-year-old Adamu Mai Bisco is still under investigation, the police say the suspect confessed to them that he had taken ‘Tramadol and Indian hemp’ before carrying out the killings.

The motive behind his killings are however yet to be identified. Another version of the story holds that the suspect was angry after his parents told him off for taking drugs.

A witness to the incidence, Malam Ibrahim, narrated what he reportedly saw, saying the suspect came out of the house with a shovel and jack knife and said he had wiped out his family.

The witness said the suspect told him ‘na gama da su’ meaning ‘l have finished them.’ When asked what he meant by that, he started chasing Malam Ibrahim with the knife. He was intercepted by good Samaritans, bundled and handed over to police around 1:00am. A neighbor alleges that the suspect had been in the habit of threatening to kill even before the attack.
