Female Apprentice After Committing Abortion Dies Mysteriously In A Well

A female apprentice learning fashion, Blessing Alex who allegedly committed abortion has been found dead.

Blessing had reportedly committed the abortion in Iselle-Azagba community in Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State.

The deceased was later found dead in a well.

A source who disclosed details of the sad event said the deceased hailed from Ikono town in Ini Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.

She was said to have been impregnated by one of the locals she was dating.

However, parents of the girl insisted that she must terminate the three-month-old pregnancy.

It was further revealed that Blessing was reportedly missing for 10 days.

This was before some vigilante group in the community found her lifeless body in the well on Saturday, December 3.

Also, the deceased was to be attached to a sewing institute for further training when she was allegedly impregnated by her boyfriend.

The said boyfriend is an indigene of the community.

One of the villagers identified simply as Uche who confirmed the incident said that many suspected the girl might have committed suicide.

Since her parents had taken a firm stance on her pregnancy, she probably suffered severe depression after the abortion.

Uche said:

“It is such a sad incident for a young promising girl to loose her life this way.

“She is living with her father and stepmother and not too long ago she aborted her pregnancy.

“Her family members were not comfortable with her relationship with the man who impregnated her, so they forced her to commit abortion. 

“Since then, she had not been herself both in composure and behaviour until she was found dead.”

Meanwhile, investigations into the case is yet to begin as the Delta State Commissioner of Police, Zanna Ibrahim, said he was not aware of the incident.
