Nigerian Dancehall musician and producer, Duncan Mighty, AKA Wene Mighty, had a meeting with the infamous Niger Delta Avengers and according to him, it was a success.
The indigene of Rivers State and self-proclaimed Port-Harcourt First son took to social media to share a photograph he took with them, captioning it, “With MA Squaddie. Proud of my Job, successful meeting with the NIGER DELTA AVENGERS. It is only peace that can bring about sustainable development in our region.”
On 8 March, 2016, the producer cum musician was unveiled as a Youth/Brand ambassador of Coalition of South-South Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines & Agriculture, otherwise known as FOSSCCIMA.
According to Duncan Mighty, the aim is to champion the course of millions of talented and creative individuals throughout the country and across, through capacity building, youth empowerment, and development. Therefore the meeting with the Niger Delta Avengers, who have been responsible for blowing up several pipelines in the south-south region, was in line with his duties as the ambassador.
Duncan Mighty Wrote this on receiving the appointment:
“I want to specially thank everyone who made this occasion a success, the media & all those who made recommendations. I promise to use this medium to prove myself as a productive & responsible youth of the Niger delta.
“Having toured the world on so many occasions & represented Rivers State, the Niger delta region & indeed Nigeria through the platform which my music career provides, I will bring my wealth of experience & exposure into action in other to fast track the process of youth empowerment & nation building in this direction.
“Permit me to say that some of the dreams & aspirations of sons & daughters of Rivers, South-South, & indeed Niger delta is coming to reality under this administration. To all stakeholders, investors, key players, brands & well-meaning individuals. This is our time. Let us come together & build the south-south of our dreams. Thanks and god bless you.”
Although Duncan Mighty is yet to reveal what was discussed in the meeting with the NDAs or the outcome of it, he says it was successful.
