The battle between Nigerian media personality, Denrele Edun, and TV host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, will begin head-to-head on Saturday, April 30, 2016 in a smashing new reality contest tagged “Lip Sync Battle Africa.” Got you there! But on a serious note, if these two were to embark on a physical battle, who do you think would win?
Lip Sync Battle Africa is a friendly battle that will be brought to your Television set through MTV Base and its premiere episode is set to debut in a couple of days. The duo are expected to engage in a set-war confrontation where they would mime two songs of their choice to find out the most capable and deserving of the Lip Sync Battle trophy which automatically makes the winner the Lip Sync Battle champion.
This Nigerian version is a new franchise of the African global TV hit, Lip Sync Battle Africa, which is hosted by South African actress and TV presenter, Pearl Thusi, alongside Nigerian pop star, D’banj. However, this premiere promises to portray that Nigerians can host a better Lip Sync Battle with Mr Edun and Mr Obi playing host.
33-year old graduate of University of Abuja and American University, is one of the co-hosts of EbonyLife’s The Spot, showing on DSTV channel 165 and is also a co-host on Naija Politics on same station. Ebuka Obi-Uchendu is also a lawyer aside being a media personality.
The origin of Okija in Anambra State, who recently got married, was a house mate on the first ever edition of Big Brother Nigeria in 2006. After bowing out of the competition in eight place, Ebuka is one of the most visibly successful BBN contestant.
Denrele Edun is known for a lot of things: Television presenter for Channel O, presenter for Soundcity, producer, actor, LGBT right activist, dancer, model, and controversial entertainer. Denrele was born and bred in Hamburg, Germany, however he attended University of Lagos, Nigeria, where he studied English Education.
Playful as he is, Denrele is quite eloquent and very vast, which has led him to win 16 awards and attracted over 30 nominations in his career. His fashion sense is epic; his hair, shoes, clothes are unique and makes him stand out even in a crowd of millions.
Most people can bet on it that Denrele would “finish” Ebuka with his mouth in this battle, even though they know for sure he may not stand the young man in a physical battle. Well, let’s all wait to find out who wins, come April 30th.
