Talented Nigerian singer and comedian Olumuyiwa Osinuga, popularly known as Nomoreloss is dead. The talented singer/songwriter died today (Monday, March 21, 2016) at an undisclosed hospital in Opebi, Ikeja.
His manager Joyce Ize-Iyamu has confirmed that the singer died today.
His family also confirmed his death in a statement released by Ademola Osinuga on behalf of the family.
The statement read:
“This is to officially Announce the passing away of our Son, Brother, Friend, Adeyemi Olumuyiwa Osinuga AKA MR NOMORELOSS who passed away this day 21 March 2016”
Although the exact cause of his death has not yet been revealed, a source said he died after an ailment which he has been suffering since the beginning of the year.
Nomoreloss, who was a presenter on the music TV show ‘Groovoidz’, launched his career as a rapper while in high school before switching to become a singer. He began his journey to stardom in 2002 when he featured in Ruggedman’s classic cut ‘Ehen
He was at different times a comedian, band leader, event planner, compere, director and talent manager. His debut album was ‘Let Them Say‘ was released in 2006 which featured the hit singles ‘Iyawo Asiko‘ and ‘Ololufe‘.
In 2012, he wrote the biggest song of singer Jaywon’s career titled ‘This Year.’ In 2014 he dropped the album ‘Standing‘, ‘Then & Now’ and just last year, he released the album ‘Grass to Grace’.
On October 2, 2015 he organized his own show ‘Back To Stage‘ at Freedom Park.
Nomoreless’ last major performance was at the August edition of Afropolitan Vibes where he was on the bill with singers Waje, and Venus Bushfire.
Nomoreloss got married in 2008 to Rhythm 93.7 FM OAP Phoenix (Adeola Osinuga). They had a daughter together in 2011. Even though there were rumors that the marriage had clashed, the late singer denied the claim.
He will forever be remembered for the role he played as the coordinator of the ‘Save OJB campaign’ during OJB Jezreeel’s kidney ailment in 2013.
