Ayodele Fayose For President 2019: Gov Launches Facebook Campaign Page

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State, has launched his presidential campaign on his Facebook page.

Punch had reported that governor Ayodele Fayose had initially said he would approach the Supreme Court to determine his eligibility to contest for the state governorship election due to his inability to complete his first term in office.

This follows court’s ruling dismissing his impeachment.

But Buzz Nigeria recalls that Fayose, who is the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Governors Forum had in May while addressing civil servants in the state’s capital said he will not contest for any political office in 2019, not even a senatorial seat but that he would rather focus on advocating for a better Nigeria.

“I don’t want to contest again, not even for senatorial race in 2019,” he had said.

But last month, he made a U-turn declaring he would take over power from the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government in 2019.

Speaking during a meeting with political office holders at government’s House, Ado-Ekiti, Governor Ayodele Fayose described himself as a man of the people, who he has what it takes to snatch power from President Muhammadu Buhari come 2019.

“I have a penchant for taking powers; that one in Buhari’s hand, I will take it. I’m going straight to that villa. I’m the next president.

“I want to be the next president of Nigeria. My own won’t be this change that has brought nothing, we are going to represent the people well and tell them the truth.

“I have defeated two incumbent governors in two dierent attempts. So, defeating the All Progressives Congress in the coming presidential election would be a walkover.

“Many did not believe that I can come back as governor of Ekiti State after eight years; I don’t know how God did it. This time, I am going to the presidency – God is taking me there but I don’t know how,” he had said.
