Armed Men Invade Super Eagle’s Player Onazi’s Home


Armed men numbering four attacked the Jos home of Super Eagle’s player, Ogenyi Onazi on Monday, carting away valuables.

The armed robbers reportedly raided his house, taking away his Toyota Highlander SUV and other valuables including cash.

Onazi’s father, Pa Wilson Obande Onazi, narrowly escaped death when the armed men attacked.

It was learned that the four armed men, all wearing masks, invaded the home of the Onazi’s at about 1.30 pm on Monday.

Ogenyi Onazi’s country home is located at Utan area of Jos North local government Area of Plateau.

The armed robbers reportedly held Onazi’s father as well as some members of his family hostage.

Although no life was lost, the robbers reportedly succeeded in getting away with the Toyota Highlander SUV and other valuables.

Onazi, speaking from his base in Turkey was disturbed by the incident.

He alleged that the bandits pretended to be courier men with a letter to be delivered to his father.

Ogenyi Onazi’s Home Robbed By Armed Men

Onazi was reported to have alleged that the attackers have threatened to attack again, with him as the target.

Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Terna Tyopev, confirmed the incident in Jos yesterday.

PPRO Tyopev revealed that policemen were posted to the house immediately the incident was reported, to reassure them of safety.

According to him, the divisional crime officer personally led detectives to the house.

He also added that the area is now calm and investigations have commenced on the crime.

Onazi’s brothers and other family members have reported the incident to the police.

Pa Wilson Onazi has also been discharged from the hospital where he was treated for the injuries inflicted on him by the attackers.
