Preparations are in top gear for Nigerian pop singer, Kingsley Okonkwo, popularly known as Kcee and Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, who are both contesting for the forthcoming Anambra governorship election slated for November.
KCee recently announced his intention to join the gubernatorial race with a campaign banner, whose slogan read: “Peace and enjoyment for all.”
In a chat with HIP TV, the Five Star Music artist insists that his bid to contest for the Anambra governorship election is not a joke. He said:
“My campaign manager said I should not speak much about it and that’s what I’m gonna stand on. I’m gonna be making an official statement about it but trust me it’s not a joke.
“I think the youth has to speak up and that’s what I’m saying right now.
“And I think you have what it takes to do it and I have what it takes so if you believe in yourself, make it rain.”

On the other hand, on Tuesday, August 15, Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, stormed a meeting of the Democratic People’s Congress, (DPC) in Onitsha to assert his readiness to contest the election on the platform of the party.
Accompanied by another popular Nollywood actor, Chief Okwudili Oguegbu, who is also serving as Edochie’s campaign manager, they were received by the state chairman of the party, Prince Orjiwulu Ifejika, his executives and party supporters.
Popularly known as ‘Odogwu Nteje’, (Strong Man of Nteje), Edochie stressed that he is on a divine mission to rescue Anambra people from the hands of selfish and directionless politicians who have over the years thought about themselves and their families, disregarding the youths and their parents.
“One thing I have built for myself over the years is integrity, and I will do everything possible to maintain that integrity,” Edochie said.
