Former Super Eagles Captain, Joseph Yobo, has been appointed as the Senior Special Assistant on Sports Development to Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike. The appointment comes just four days after his testimonial game in Port-Harcourt.
Yobo was honoured by a slew of his former colleagues and friends at his testimonial played at the Adokiye Amiesimaka stadium on Friday, May 27. Just a day after his testimonial match in Port Harcourt, the 35-year-old was conferred with a chieftaincy title of Mene Aborlo 1 and Waamene Aborlo 1 of Ogoni Land.
The former Everton, Norwich and Marseille player joins the Rivers State Government with his wealth of experience in Sports.
The Governor also appointed Chibuzor Aholu as his Senior Special Assistant on Financial Matters. Special Assistant to Rivers State Governor, Simeon Nwakaudu, made the announcement in a statement on Tuesday. He said the appointments would take immediate effect.
