The United States President-elect, Donald J. Trump just dropped another bomb on what his receiving salary as US president is going to be like and he told ’60 Minutes,’ on Sunday, November 13, he will not be taking his pay check as President.
During an exclusive interview with the TV anchor, Lesley Stahl, not only did he pledge no presidential salary, Trump also pledged there will be no long vacations during his time in the White House as US president.
The Billionaire didn’t even know what his salary will be when he said:
“I think I have to by law take $1, so I’ll take $1 a year. But it’s a — I don’t even know what it is. Do you know what the salary is?”
Stahl informed him that it is “$400,000 you’re giving up.” To which he responded:
“No, I’m not going to take the salary. I’m not taking it. There’s just so much to be done.”
When asked about his rights as US President to go on vacation, he answered;
“I don’t think we’ll be very big on vacations, no.”
Since the election, demonstrations against him have broken out in over a dozen cities across the country. It has been determined through his first television interview as US president-elect that most of his campaign statements were not meant to be implemented on, rather they represent opening bids for negotiation.
The business mogul cum president spoke about curtailing immigration into the US and deporting illegal crime prone residents and here’s what he said:
Lesley Stahl: What about the pledge to deport millions and millions of undocumented immigrants?
Donald Trump: What we are going to do is get the people that are criminal and have criminal records, gang members, drug dealers, we have a lot of these people, probably two million, it could be even three million, we are getting them out of our country or we are going to incarcerate. But we’re getting them out of our country, they’re here illegally. After the border is secured and after everything gets normalized, we’re going to make a determination on the people that you’re talking about who are terrific people, they’re terrific people but we are gonna make a determination at that– But before we make that determination– Lesley, it’s very important, we want to secure our border.
