Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele, popularly known as ‘Jenifa’ got engaged weeks ago while on set of her TV Comedy Drama, series, “Jenifa’s Diary.” Reports had it that the talented actress was speechless when she was proposed to by musician Abdul Rasheed Bello, popularly known as JJC Skillz on his knees.
JJC Skillz is a single father of three children, ages 18, 15 and 10 from three different women. Funke’s marriage to Kehinde Almaroof crashed in 2013 just 14 months after.There were rumours that the marriage did not work due to her husband’s extra-marital affairs.
Funke and JJC Skillz have been together for some time now and have managed to keep the relationship away from the media. According to a close source, the two have already received the blessings of their families and might be tying the knots soon.
Another source confirmed that Funke has now moved into her lover’s flat in Ikate area of Lekki and that JJC Skillz now calls the shots on the set of her popular TV drama, Jenifa’s Diary.
JJC Skillz was reportedly asked during an interview in 2015, why he is yet to marry and this is what he had to say:
“The emotional ties is what I am trying so hard to avoid, because I want to focus on my career. My career makes me happy but my relationships don’t make me happy. Its full of complaints.
“Until I get to that point that I’m satisfied with my career, before I can think of bringing someone else fully into my life. Fortunately for me, I had kids early in life.”
Last year, a rumour went viral on social media that Funke Akindele was responsible for Nollywood actor Femi Adebayo’s collapsed marriage. The actor reacted to the rumours, explaining that his first marriage crashed because his ex-wife did not like his profession and had nothing to do with Funke.
“Funke had nothing to do with the marriage crash, the major reason my marriage broke-up was the fact that my baby mother does not really like my profession. Funke absolutely has nothing to do with this marriage problems. And I want people to get this clear.”
