Nigerians Beg Transport Minister To Ban Peace Mass Transit

Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has been called on by concerned Nigerians to ban Peace Mass Transit from plying Nigerian roads.

This is following the recent spate of  fatal accidents recorded from the transport company lately. The company had within a short period recorded over 10 crashes, which has claimed many innocent lives.

Just yesterday (Thursday), a Peace Mass Transit  bus was involved in yet another fatal crash, barely a month after scores lost their lives in an accident in Abia, Enugu and Delta states with the transport company.

The PMT bus which was travelling from Enugu to Bayelsa State was reportedly involved in a fatal accident at Okogbe town, along Emezi Road killing almost everyone onboard.

Safety experts have called for the company to be banned from operating and be investigated for the recent mishaps recorded.

Many who believe the transport company had inexperienced drivers, say it should also be investigated for the recurrent tragic incidents which have become increasingly alarming.

The social media has been agog lately with news of the transport company’s tragic crashes making headlines with some blaming the FRSC for failing to ban the company’s operations long before now.

Two months ago, Peace Mass Transit was involved in ghastly auto crash which occurred at the Umuahia end of the Enugu/Port Harcourt Expressway, precisely at the Ofeme Junction.

It involved a MAN-Diesel engine truck, with registration number Plateau JJN 782 XB and a 18-seater Toyota Hiace bus, with registration number, AKL 895 YA, belonging to the transport company. The accident reportedly claimed 13 lives, with only two survivors.
