80-Year Old Man Gets Acid Bath Over Inheritance Of Properties


The Police in Okhoro Police Division in Edo state yesterday arrested a 40-year-old lady, her two sons, and nanny for the gruesome acid attack on a renowned Benin based 80-year-old doctor, Pa Tunde Ojehomon, PhD, over change of beneficiaries in a Will and Property Sales.

Doctors are currently battling to save the victim’s life at the hospital as the acid affected his face and body.

Counsel to the family, Jefferson Uwoghiren, confirmed the attack to journalists in Benin, but referred further comments to the police.

But it was gathered that the suspect simply identified as Tina is said to be a mistress of the victim and  had children for him even though they are not legally married.

Tina her two sons and a nanny, are currently being detained at that Okhoro Division Police Station over the matter.


When contacted for comments, Edo State Police Commissioner, Haliru Abubakar Gwandu, who declined to comment, said it was an insult for journalists to call him on the phone to confirm news report.

In a similar development, a story has been reported of a  step-mother (name withheld), who allegedly fed an  infant with acid. The step-mother was said to have fed the baby with the poison when she requested to bath the newly born child.

The mother of the baby was said to have willingly given the baby to her husband’s first wife, with the hope that she was going to bath the child, but instead, the step-mum took the child to a corner, and allegedly fed him with acid.

The cry of the baby alerted the mother who immediately requested for her baby, but the step-mum was reluctant to release the baby to her.

The mother of the child was said to have quickly rushed the baby to Ilorin general hospital where the doctor confirmed that the child was fed with acid.

The step-mother claimed she had fed the infant with a methylated spirit, adding that she committed the crime under the influence of a spell.
