Pastor Enoch Adeboye has declared confidently that he has no doubt in his mind that the late matriarch of the Awolowo family, Chief Hannah Idowu Dideolu Awolowo, made it to the glorious side of eternity – heaven.
The General Overseer of one of the most powerful and fastest growing christian denomination in Nigeria that produced the current Vice President of the country, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo said:
“By the special grace of God and because of my interaction with Mama, I have no doubt at all that she is in heaven now.”
The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) pastor, known for his calm and very humble disposition said this on Tuesday during a prayer session which he held with the Awolowo family members, and relations, friends and other well wishers who gathered at their Ikenne residence to pay their last respects to the late matriarch.
MORNING DEVOTION: This Is Why You Should Pray When You Wake Up
Explaining why he could come to such a conclusion, Pastor Adeboye said that he had the privilege to have a personal encounter with mama two weeks before her death while also using the opportunity to persuade those listening to him to make sure they make heaven as he is sure HID made it to heaven.
“Before Mama passed on, she was making a request and I was contacted. I won’t go into details about the request but I was abroad and when I came back I saw her and we had a little discussion before she passed away. As a result of that, I have no doubt that Mama is resting with the Lord.
“You have to consider your own case because all of us can’t say when it will be our turn. Would you end up resting with the Lord or you end up on the other side? The choice is yours,” he said.
He also encouraged the family to remain united and grow stronger in the midst of their sorrows as that will help to maintain the legacies their parents, late Chief Obafemi Awolowo and his late wife, Hannah Idowu Dideolu had felt behind.
“We want it said that after the transition of Papa and Mama, the Awolowo family became stronger and bigger. We don’t want a situation where things will now begin to diminish. We want to pray for the legacy they are leaving behind that the Almighty God will keep the legacy and move the children to higher heights.
