Meet The Funniest Person In The World: Malaysian Comedian, Harith Iskander
Malaysian comedian, Harith Iskander, has been crowned the Funniest Person In The World.
Iskander emerged the winner in the finals of the Funniest Person in the World competition held in Levi, Finland on Saturday.
He beat out four finalists to win the title.
The other finalists included Alex Calleja – The Philippines, Katerina Vrana – Greece, Mino van Nassau – India and David Kilimnick – Israel.
Organizers of the contest announced via their Twitter handle on Saturday saying:
“Congratulations @HarithIskander- #LaughFactory’s Funniest Person in the World for 2016.”
As the winner of the “The Funniest Person in the World” title, Harith will receive the grand prize of USD$100,000 (
Malaysian Comedian Crowned World Funniest Person
The Funniest Person in the World competition is organized by Laugh Factory, a global comedy chain in the United States.
Harith performed alongside other comedians in the finals of the competition at the Hullu Polo Arena in Levi, Finland on Friday.
The winner was chosen through global online fan voting, which was open for 24 hours after the finals.
Harith has previously defeated 88 other comedians from all over the world.
He also beat fellow Malaysian comedian, Dr. Jason Leong to reach the finals of the competition.
Sadly, no Nigerian or African comedian reached the finals of this year’s competition.
The 50-year-old actor and tv show host expressed gratitude to his fans and supporters to reporters saying:
“It’s been an amazing journey thus far and I thank my fans and loved ones for supporting me all the way.
“I arrived in Helsinki for the semis last Friday (Dec 2) and had a chance to tour this beautiful European city.”
