“I want to tell you today, that Buhari is a prayer answered. Whether you hate or like him, Buhari is a prayer answered. The Catholic Bishops of Nigeria prayed against bribery and corruption and this President came with a war against corruption. All the prayers we have been doing against bribery and corruption, God answered the prayers through a Muslim who decided not to discriminate. There is nothing like racial, ethnic discrimination in this administration. He is a man of all. He means good for this country and we owe him unalloyed, consistent, spiritual and otherwise support. If he is not the man at the helm of affairs now or had it being the last regime continued, by now, Nigeria would be for sale. Who will buy? All the moneys voted for infrastructure, few people stole the money. That is why we are passing through chronic hunger, joblessness. Many have died and are still dying because of this. That is why they want to engineer you people to cause crisis even in this part of Igboland under the guise that Igbo are marginalized.”
Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, the Catholic priest presiding over Christ the King Parish in GRA, Enugu state and director of Adoration Ministry in Enugu may be transferred out of his station.
According to a reliable source, this is supposed to be planned in such a way to make it look like a routine church affair but the church is afraid of the possible reaction of his followers, who make up more than 80% of the population of Enugu Catholic Diocese.
Speaking the issue, Rev. Fr. Joseph Offor, the director of social communications of the Diocese, said:
“Yes, the postings will be announced this week. The Bishop decides who should be posted where; it has nothing to do with a particular individual. It is a routine practice which is done every six years.”
Politician and Adoration follower, Val Nnadozie speaking on the recent development said:
“For me, I think it’s just a rumor which is making the rounds. And it is my view that the Bishop has the right to transfer any priest. However, it won’t be right if such a transfer is done with malice or as a punitive measure for holding an opinion on an issue.”
The priest who was strongly criticized by the clergies in the South East during the 2015 Presidential elections when he publicly supported President Muhammadu Buhari over Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, in his new year message blasted those who regard him as a fake prophet.
In his predictions for 2016, Mbaka is quoted to have said:
