American Comedian Chris Rock Divorces Wife Malaak After 20 Years


Popular American comedian and tv personality, Chris Rock divorces wife of 20 years, Malaak Compton.

Although the comic actor and entertainer had been separated from his now ex-wife, Malaak since 2014.

According to US media reports, ironing out the terms of their settlement has been quite complicated.

The couple both appeared in a New Jersey courtroom on Monday to finalize the split, reports TMZ.

Chris Rock and Compton were married in 1996 and have two children together, ages 12 and 14.


The 51-year-old comic actor ad ex-wife have two daughters Lola Simone, 14 and Zahra Savannah, 12.

The couple also have another child, an eight-year-old South African named Ntombi.

According to sources, Ntombi who is a child of South African street traders, joined their household under mysterious circumstances.

She began living with Chris Rock and his family at only six months old.

Reports say Ntombi was never legally adopted by Rock and Compton, raising a number of questions.

According to TMZ, back in 2008, the Rock’s family took in Ntombi who remained in their house and was subsequently enrolled in a local school.

Ntombi’s parents are said to be unemployed and from South Africa.

It is, however, still unclear why she is living with the Rock family.

Chris maintained contact with his two biological daughters despite the divorce proceedings with ex-wife Malaak.

The popular comedian and actor hosted the Oscar Awards earlier this year where he threw major shade at popular celebrities.

Meanwhile, 51-year-old Chris began dating 33-year-old actress Megalyn Echikunwoke earlier this year.


Chris brought girlfriend Megalyn Echikunwoke to the Governor’s Ball at the 88th Academy Awards back in February.

Megalyn has had recurring roles in 24, ER, CSI Miami, The 4400, Dr 90210 and Damien.

She was most recently featured as the animal-powered Vixen in the TV series Arrow.
