A Nigerian Tech Entrepreneur has taken creativity to another level by creating Naija Emoji, which avails the Nigerian community more Emoji diversity and options.
An Emoji app is a small digital image or icon used to express an idea, emotion, etc., in electronic communication.
CEO of the Columbus Ohio based Wayitech Consults Josh Tutu, with his team created Naija Emoji, a new emoji keyboard that is unique to the Nigerian and African community.
It is the first Naija Emoji version which comprises of about 70 Emoji stickers available exclusively within the NaijaEmoji Keyboard App for iOS and Android NaijaEmoji, launched for free download on Android and Apple devices.
The Pidgin English-themed stickers in the app consist of a diverse array of Nigerian Popular faces and Celebrity characters accompanied by familiar pidgin English Phrases.

Naija Emoji lets you share custom Emojis with your friends via Text Messages, WhatsApp, Twitter, Facebook Messenger and other messaging platforms. All characters including real people are all fictional.
In February, the Afro Emoji team launched an Emoji app that can run on both Android and Apple devices which included some well known captions such as ‘Abeg no vex’, ‘E make brain’ and ‘My Oga at the top’, with options to also invent one’s own sayings.
Afro Emoji launched on Google Play Store and the App Store with 50 characters available for free and in-app sticker purchases available at $1.99 for 300+ stickers and growing.
These Emojis can also be downloaded for free on Android and Apple devices, and stickers sent via Whatsapp, SMS or iMessage, Facebook/Messenger, Twitter DM, Skype, Google hangout, BBM.
The creators of Afro Emoji, iManagement Consulting, said they were building a modern African hieroglyph that represents us, adding that Africans definitely have a distinctive way of communicating with one another, and Afro Emoji provides a fun, graphic depiction of that.
