Mary Lazarus Ndionyenma was born on 5 May 1989 along with her twin brother, Joseph. She is one of seven children and some of her siblings are Onyinye Ndionyenma, Tonye Joseph Lazarus (twin brother), and Ifeoma Mormah Lazarus.
She hails from Southeastern Nigeria, precisely Ukwa East LGA, Abia State, and belongs to the Igbo ethnic group. Her father, Mr Lazarus, is still alive, while her mother who was born in 1953 died in July 2021 of an undisclosed illness.
During her early childhood, Mary Lazarus attended primary school in Lagos. Later on, she went to Badagry Grammar School, Lagos. In 2008, she graduated with a 4.1 grade from the University of Ibadan, Oyo State, where she studied Geography.
Mary Lazarus Started Her Rise to Fame as a Model
From the early age of 16/17 years, Mary Lazarus began a career in modeling. Her first modeling gig was with V-mobile, a Nigerian mobile network provider. The company which functioned in Nigeria in 2004 was later bought over by Celtel in 2006. Mary Lazarus worked as a model for the company whose adverts ran in popular newspapers such as Vanguard.
Later on, while still juggling to gain a degree in Geography from the University, the actress would shuttle between Lagos for her modeling auditions and Oyo State, Ibadan, for her schooling. It started to pay off gradually when other network providers like MTN and Airtel began using her for commercials and photo sessions.
Despite not working as a runway model, Mary did not lack modeling jobs that paid off. She has worked in TV commercials, adverts, and photo studio modeling. Since then, renowned companies such as LG, Ajinomoto, Springbank, and UGo! have worked with her as a model.
