Oyekunle Oluwaremi “Kunle Remi” (born: 18 October 1988; Age: 36 years old) is an established Nigerian actor, director, model, TV and event host, motivational speaker, entrepreneur, and winner of the 7th edition of Gulder Ultimate Search (2010). He is most famous for his roles in 13 Letters (2021), Falling (2015), and Gold Statue (2019).

Kunle mixes talent, skills, and charisma to turn himself into a highly celebrated versatile actor who has brought many characters to life. He is a self-acclaimed “Half Human Half Screen God” and showcases himself through skits that would lead to his being nicknamed the “king of TikTok.”

Kunle Remi Is 36 Years Old and Hails From Ekiti State

Kunle Remi was born Oyekunle Oluwaremi Opeyemi on 18 October 1988 in Benue State. He is, however, a native of Ekiti State who later moved to Ibadan in Oyo State, where he had his early life.

Kunle’s father is an engineer named Joseph Ibukun Oluremi, while his mother is an academician and a school owner named Mrs. S.O Oluwaremi. The actor disclosed in an interview that his parents are supportive.

Kunle has five siblings – an older sibling and four younger ones. He is the only entertainer in the family, but his younger brother studies theater arts. According to Remi, he mentors his brother.

Kunle Remi has attended different schools within and outside of Nigeria. He went to secondary school in Ibadan, Oyo State, and headed for his University education at the University of Ibadan, where he studied Fishery and Wildlife Management.

According to reports, Kunle had left the University of Ibadan to attend Sheffield University, South Yorkshire, in the United Kingdom, where he purportedly studied Tourism and Hospitality Management. However, his website has no mention of the university, but he attested to have graduated from UI.

Kunle Remi participated in the 7th season of the Gulder Ultimate Search in 2007. The reality show then took place in Omo Forest in Ogun State of the Southwest region of Nigeria. His winning the show brought him into the public consciousness, as it did another Nollywood actor Chris Okagbue.

About four years after he won GUS, the show took a hiatus in 2014, and upon its return in 2021, he was named the taskmaster of season 12. He was also named the taskmaster of the 13th season in 2022.

Kunle Remi Started His Professional Acting Career in 2011

The native of Ekiti State has been in the acting scene for 13 years since 2011 when he was about 23. He started with minor roles until he reached a major in Heavy Beauty in 2012. At the initial stage of Kunle’s acting career, he also performed stunts in 2014 in Kpains: The Feast of Souls. Additionally, served as an actor in the same film where he interpreted the role of Henry.

Kunle’s Career as a TV Host

The 36-year-old actor has a thriving career as a TV and event host. He started as the host of an online TV called CELEBVILLE360. He has also hosted 18+ shows on DStv’s Africa Magic channel. Before 2020, Remi had a social media presence but was very busy filming that he had little time to put out content. This nonetheless changed when the COVID-19 pandemic struck in 2020, and there was a lockdown. Then, he realized that he was left with his phone, TV, and a few people he was isolated with.
