Genevieve Nnaji is a Nigerian actress and singer. The Nollywood veteran and mother of one is arguably one of the most successful Nigerian actresses with a sustained record of progress over the years.
She won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role in 2005. In 2011, she given a Member of the Order of the Federal Republic by the Nigerian government for her significant role in Nollywood.
Genevieve Nnaji is an epitome of natural beauty and at late thirties, she is still as flawless as a teenager.
Early Life And Education:
Nnaji was born in Mbaise, Imo State, Nigeria but was raised in Lagos. She is the fourth of eight children and was raised in a not so rich home. Her father worked as an engineer and her mother as a nursery teacher. She enrolled at Methodist Girls College (Yaba, Lagos), before joining University of Lagos. While at the university, she started auditioning for acting jobs in Nollywood.
In 2004 she signed a recording contract with EKB Records, a Ghanaian record label, and released her debut album One Logologo Line, a mix of R&B, Hip-Hop and Urban music.
Despite the heavy public push and shove, Genevieve has remained adamant to calls of marriage. She has painstakingly explained that she was born and raised Catholic and she doesn’t believe in divorce.
The star who is yet to marry said men are usually intimidated by her fame. While some other men who would have come to ask for her love, had already judged her from what they read in Magazines and Newspapers about her, so they come with ulterior motives. She opened up that she would like to marry a man that would be her best friend and confidant.

Genevieve Nnaji began acting as a child actress in the then-famous television soap opera “Ripples” at the age of 8. She also starred in different commercials, some of which included Pronto beverage and Omo detergent. In 1998, at the age of 19, she made her debut in the growing Nigerian film industry with the movie “Most Wanted.” As an upcoming actress, trying to create a name for herself, she went through various minor roles waiting for a chance to burst loose. Today she is one of the most celebrated stars in Nigeria’s movie industry.
There had been so many controversies behind Genevieve’s daughter including who fathered her and her real identity. Genevieve herself may never reveal who the father is due to the circumstances surrounding the pregnancy. The celebrity had a baby girl after she got pregnant at 15. Following the girl’s birth, reports say, she kept her with her mother Benedatte Nnaji who recently clocked 60 to look after her. Her daughter is not a public figure as her mother , Genevieve and it is alleged she lives abroad.
