Mosun Filani celebrates her birthday every 5 July. Although her exact age is not known, some sources claim that she was born in 1968 and may be 55 years old. However, the actress quickly debunked such claims in 2021.

There are claims by some individuals on social media that they attended the same school as the actress. Some of these individuals attest that Mosun was born around 1979 and 1980 and as such may be about 44 or 44 years old. Whatever the case, this age claim has not been verified but she is married to a man that is 53 years old.

Mosun Filani’s parents are Pa Olatunde Solomon Filani and Yinka Filani from Ekiti State. Her father was born in 1946 and was a lecturer at the College of Education in Ikere, Ekiti State. He died at the age of 69 after a brief illness on 19 February 2015.

Her mother, Yinka Filani, known as Iya Pupa, was born on 4 April 1950 in Ado-Ekiti but has lived most of her life in Ife, Ibadan.

Although little is known of her siblings, her then-25 year old younger brother who goes by the name Olatunbosun Oluwatosin Filani was allegedly murdered in 2010 by some Policemen in Eleweran/Obantoko Abeokuta, Ogun State.

This singular act was one of the driving forces that prompted Mosun to actively participate in the  2020 #EndSars protest. The protest was a stand by the people of Nigeria against police brutality.

Acting has always been a hobby and a much-loved interest to Mosun Filani. As far back as her secondary school days, she joined various drama and dance groups before taking it as a career.

Her first step into the acting world came while a movie was being shot at her home. She then took the opportunity to pick up an acting form during the course of the shoot from actor and filmmaker Waheed Dimeji Ijaduade.

She came into the industry in 2005 and has since appeared in at least 20 movies. Her emergence into the limelight, however, was for the movie by Muyiwa Ademola titled Ami Ayo. Sadly, just after she gained massive attention, the actress left acting following her marriage in 2012.

Who is Mosun Filani’s Husband?

Kayode Emmanuel Oduoye aka Superkay is Mosun Filani’s husband. He is a politician, businessman, and legal practitioner who was born on 6 October 1970. Kayode hails from Osun State in the South-West region of Nigeria, but grew up in Lagos State where he still lives to date.

His academic journey took himto the Government College, Ibadan, for his secondary education. He finished from there in 1988 after which he moved on to study Law (LLB) at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, from where he graduated in 1996. By 1998, he had obtained a Master of Laws (LLM) from the University of Buckingham, England.

The legal practitioner is a  member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and candidate for House of Representatives from Ifelodun, Boripe, Odootin Federal Constituency Seat of Osun State at the 2023 general elections. In 2018, Kayode Oduoye contested for the Osun State governorship seat and lost.
