24-Year-Old Fave Hails From Anambra State, SouthEast Nigeria

Chidozie Godsfavour Ugochinyere, known to the general populace as Fave, was born on March 13, 2000, in Anambra State, the southeastern part of Nigeria. She was born to the couple Mr. and Mrs. Ugochinyere, under the Taurus zodiac sign.

Fave is Igbo by ethnicity, Nigerian by nationality and a Christian. Her siblings are very private people, hence, nothing about them has made it to the internet as of the time of this writing. Further details about her educational qualification have not been revealed but as of the time of writing, Fave is said to still be a student, probably at a University in Nigeria where she is pursuing a course that is yet to be known to the public.

Fave’s Passion For Music Began Since Childhood

Though commonly regarded as a newbie in the music industry, Fave has long been following everything about music with keen interest. The Nigerian vocalist and songwriter began harnessing her passion for singing at the very young age of 6. She composes songs and performs her favorite hits for her classmates, friends, and family during events and after-school hours.

Fave’s parents knew about her passion for music and they were willing to support her to carry on with it only as a hobby, not as a professional career. However, her decision to take up music as a career began just after bagging her secondary school certificate. To see her dreams come through, she has channeled all her energy and focus on her musical career.

She Officially Began Her Career in 2019

Fave’s musical career took a new dimension when she relocated to Lagos. She wasted no time working on her dreams. She officially started off in 2019, releasing her first single, ‘M.O.M.M.S,’ which stands for “Me or Mask My Sins.

As expected, the song only received little attention due to her small fan base at the time. Months after the song’s release, its popularity slowly started picking up, and the song was referenced in three NDANI TV shows. She wrote that particular song and dedicated it to broken people who seem unable to accept love because they are blind to the intentions of others.

On the record, Fave’s soulful voice rang out clearly over the track’s piano-led beat which has become her signature mark. She soon recognized the power of social media as a creative artist and used it to her advantage. Her social media accounts were instrumental in propelling her into the spotlight. She then rose to prominence after performing a freestyle over a beat produced by Jinmi Abduls.

Jinmi is a producer and artist based in Lagos, and his beats have made Fave’s popularity and fame grow exponentially. While being interviewed for a magazine, the singer revealed that she scoured the internet for free beats until she came across the one made by Jinmi.

She then made a freestyle track to that beat that gained a lot of traction online. This freestyle was a watershed moment for Fave, who went on to release her official debut single ‘N.B.U.’ meaning, Nobody But U. She released this on April 17th, 2020.

Fave continued to soar while receiving a lot of positive feedback from the public. Soon, she was added to at least three official playlists on Apple Music. Her first EP, ‘Anywhere but Here,’ was released on November 7th, 2020. In 2021, she kept riding the wave and returned with two records titled ‘Beautifully’ and ‘Baby Riddim’. The singer also released her debut music project called ‘Riddim 5’ EP, on January 20, 2022.

Her music style, which is a mix of R&B, Pop, Soul, and Dancehall, is heavily influenced by world-famous musicians like Adele, Billie Eilish, Shaggy, Aisha Badru, Sia, and Lorde. Fave has also attributed her musical style to being lifted by other musical veterans like Asa, Nicki Minaj, Beyoncé, Tiwa Savage, and Rihanna. The singer has collaborated closely with chart-topping artists such as Olamide, BOJ, Dimeji, Skellz, Remiondon, and so many other musicians.
