Jade Castrinos is a white American singer born and raised in the United States of America. She was born in Los Angeles, California, but raised in Las Flores Canyon, Malibu, where she completed her early and high school education. She joined the band in 2005 as a singer and guitarist and was a big part of its formative years. She contributed immensely to the band’s success and helped in its structuring until its official launch, spearheaded by Alex Ebert. As a part of the music band, Castrinos focused primarily on playing guitar, vocals, percussion, and the keyboard.
The band became rapidly famous, and many more members kept joining, most of whom eventually became their close friends. They played their first official show on the 18th of July 2007 at The Troubadour in West Hollywood, California, United States. Edward and Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros gained international recognition after they dropped their first studio album, Up from Below, in July 2009 on Community Records.
The album ranked 86 on the Australian chart, 76 on the Billboard 200, and 56 on the UK Album. It was also nominated as the Best Alternative Music Album at the 2010 Grammy Awards. Why was Jade Castrinos Kicked Out of The Band??
In 2014, during the band’s summer tour, Jade Castrinos decided to leave Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros to the shock of her fans. Her departure did not only come as a shock to many but amid numerous controversies and speculations. Considering how vital and significant she has been to the band, people wondered what the reason behind her departure was, leading to some unfounded rumors.
In the heat of the moment, Jade wrote on her Instagram bio, “For seven years I sang and wrote music with Edward Sharpe. They voted me off of tour week a week before they left, via email. Lol”. The band’s frontman, Alex Ebert, responded to her comment with a Facebook post that partly reads, “…Her statement left a lot of things to the imagination. Out of respect for Jade, I will keep it that way.”
In 2015, a year after Jade left, the band took to their Facebook page and debunked the claims that she was kicked out. They announced to the public that she voluntarily exited the group. According to them, Jade decided to quit the group after she was requested to stand down for one tour.
