Did Lorenzen Wright Have Twins?

This means they are 24 years old in 2023. Their birthplace and childhood beginnings are unknown. All we know is that they both play for Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Cougars (SIUE).

How Lorenzen Wright’s Children Coped With His Demise

While the kids lost their dad at a young age, they were able to pull through. Lamar and Shamar got counseled at school, and Lorenzen Wright Jr had to become a makeshift dad to his younger ones.

He fended for them and trained the twins on basketball, just like his dad. Snoop, as he’s fondly called, taught his younger ones about life lessons.

Lorenzen Wright’s children found solace in church after their father’s death. During this period, the family relocated to Texas, then California. Snoop played guard at Robert Morris in Pennsylvania before transferring to Tennessee-Martin. The twins played basketball at Murietta Mesa High School in Southern California.

Some of Lorenzen Wright’s Kids Grew up Without Their Mother

Another tragedy befell the Wright family after the death of their patriarch. Their mother, Sherra Wright Robinson, was sentenced to 30 years imprisonment for having a hand in their father’s death. This happened nine years after the death of the former basketball player. Due to their mum’s incarceration, they had to live by themselves without any parental care.

Lorenzen Wright was killed on July 28, 2010. He died from gunshot wounds. Note that Lorenzen and Sherra were divorced before the incident. After the divorce, Lorenzen moved to Atlanta, but he still came around to Memphis to check on his kids but later went missing. His mother reported that he couldn’t be found or reached after some days. His body was found after some days of searching.

An investigation ensued to get to the root of the murder case. During the investigation, Sherra divulged that her ex-husband was a drug addict, and she once saw him with a man who was suspected to be a drug peddler. The investigation took a different turn after the revelation, but it didn’t yield much success.

The murder case dragged on until seven years later when Sherra’s cousin, Jimmie Martin, disclosed that he connived with Sherra and Billy Ray Turner to kill Lorenzen Wright. This happened at the time when he was convicted for the murder of his girlfriend, Martha Jean Bownes.

Sherra Wright and Her Cousin Were Jailed For Killing Lorenzen

Sherra’s cousin, Jimmie Martin, further stated that the duo confessed to the murder act and sought his help. Jimmie directed the cops to the murder weapon, which was found in a lake 45 minutes away from Sherra’s home. The incriminating exchanges between Sherra and Billy cemented their involvement in the murder of Lorenzen Wright. This led to their arrest, and they were charged in court.

Before the arrest, Lorenzen’s ex-wife had written a book, Mr. Tell Me Nothing, in 2015. This book tells a story of a woman married to an unfaithful and abusive basketball player. Her book garnered lots of criticism, with many claiming the book was about her estranged husband. Some believed Mr. Tell Me Nothing was based on her story, and she had a motive for killing her ex-husband.

Initially, she pleaded not guilty to the charge, but on July 25, 2019, Sherra pleaded guilty to first-degree murder. She was sentenced to 30 years imprisonment but may likely be on parole by 2027. Lawson and Sofia, who was 12 years old, were young when their mother was convicted.

After their mum’s arrest, Snoop moved back to California to take up responsibility for the twins. By this time, his basketball season was over, and he had completed his degree at Robert Morris. Loren also moved back home to assist her brother with caring for their younger ones.

Lorenzen Wright’s Children Believe Their Mom Is Innocent

Despite the evidence and plea deal connecting Sherra to the death of her ex-husband, Lorenzen Wright’s children believe their mother is innocent of the charges laid against her. They are still supportive of their mother. The twins claim there’s more to the case as suspicions are raised about the Memphis authority.

Furthermore, Sherra stated her reasons for taking the plea deal. According to her, she received unspecified threats to her family. Also, she presumed that pleading to the charges will hasten her release from prison so that she could return and watch over her family.
