Anambra State which was created on 27th August 1991 has 21 local governments and headquarters.<\/strong><\/p>\n Anambra State is one of the 36 states that make up the Federal Republic of Nigeria and also one of the 5 southeast states in the country. The state was named after the Omambala River, a river that runs through the state and Anambra is the Anglicized name of the Omambala.
