The National Population Commission (NPC) is a government institution with offices spread across the states in Nigeria. They are charged with the collection, analysis, and coordinating the population and demographic data of Nigeria.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The commission is responsible for conducting demographic sample surveys, compiling, collating, and publishing migration and civil registration information, and monitoring the country’s population policy. It maintains a network of offices that spans the country’s administrative tiers (Federal, State, and Local Government Areas).<\/p>\n

According to the commission’s most recent population census report, Nigeria has a population of 166.2 million people. Presently, the activities of the National Population Commission revolve around civil registration and important statistics, enumeration area demarcation, census enumeration, surveys, advocacy, and publicity.<\/p>\n
