NYSC orientation camps in the 36 states of Nigeria include Abia NYSC Camp in Umunna in Bende local government, Enugu NYSC Camp in Agwu local government, Yobe NYSC Camp in Nangere local government and others. Ogun NYSC camp and Borno NYSC camp are considered the best and worst camps respectively.<\/p>\n
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is a body set up by the government to foster unity and growth among Nigerian graduates. To achieve this aim, a mandatory one-year service is undertaken by every Nigerian graduate under the supervision of NYSC. The NYSC exercise involves three weeks of camping with skill acquisition and paramilitary drilling, after which the corp members are assigned their place of primary assignment from the camp.<\/p>\n
This initial exercise takes place in the NYSC orientation camps situated in 36 states of Nigeria, including the FCT. Subsequently, the corp members will proceed to their various places of primary assignment to serve the country for one year.<\/p>\n
All the states in Nigeria have their respective NYSC orientation camps and for the places where insurgency is a problem, the NYSC can relocate corp members to neighboring states.<\/p>\n
<\/a><\/p>\n To navigate to this NYSC orientation camp from the state capital – Umuahia will take about 76 minutes. First, board a bus heading to Bende Local Government, about 36 minutes drive. Then, take another bus to the Abia State NYSC Orientation Camp from the park, which will take about 40 minutes from the heart of the local government area.<\/p>\n This is one of the NYSC orientation camps located in the northeastern part of Nigeria. To get to the camp from the state capital Yola, board a bus heading to Girei LGA, which will take 36 minutes and 26km distance. Then, board another bus heading to the orientation camp, about 28 28-minute drive.<\/p>\n This is one of the NYSC Orientation Camps in the southeastern part of Nigeria. If there is no straight bus to the camp, you can board a bus heading to Nsit Atai LGA, which will take about 38 minutes. Then board a bus to the camp, 10 km from the LGA.<\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n Umuawulu is another location for one of the NYSC orientation camps in the southeastern part of Nigeria. If it isn’t easy to get transportation heading directly to the orientation camp, board a bus heading to Mbaukwu Awka South LGA from Awka, which is a 22-minute drive of about 13.2 km. Then board another bus to drop you at the orientation camp, which will take about 18 minutes at 11.2km.<\/p>\n The NYSC permanent orientation camp in Bauchi is one of the best NYSC orientation camps in the northeast geographical zone of Nigeria. To locate the camp from Bauchi town, take a bus heading to Tirwun and stop at the park in Ganjuwa. Then, board another bus from Tirwun to the camp at Buda. Alternatively, there may be available transportation heading from Bauchi town straight to the orientation camp.<\/p>\n This camp is situated at a temporary location in the state. To locate the camp from Yenagoa, board a bus from the park, a 1 hour 8 minutes drive. The bus will take you through Biogbolo to Yenegwe and then Mbiama to the next stop, the Kalama Grammar School.<\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n To find your way to the orientation camp from Makurdi, board a bus from the motor park in Makurdi to Wannune, Gboko. It is a total of 1 hour 37 minutes journey of 92.8 km.<\/p>\n Due to the insurgency in Borno State, NYSC decided to move their orientation camp from Borno to Katsina State. To locate the orientation camp from Katsina, drive through Kusada Cresent, towards A9 and Batsari road, which takes about 19 minutes.<\/p>\n Cross River State has one of the best NYSC orientation camps in the south-south region of Nigeria. However, the camp is a bit far from the heart of Calabar. A bus to the orientation camp from Calabar will take a distance of 173km, which is about 3 hours 21 minutes.<\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n It is one of the NYSC orientation camps in the South-South region of Nigeria. The camp is easy to locate as it takes only 34 34-minute drive of about 32.5km from the capital.<\/p>\n The NYSC permanent orientation camp in Ebonyi State is in Afikpo. Getting to the camp from Abakaliki takes you through a straight road. The distance to this location from Abakaliki is 63.5 km which takes about 1 hour and 13 minutes.<\/p>\n This state houses one of the NYSC orientation camps in the South-central part of Nigeria. The shortest route to the camp from Benin is through the Sagamu-Benin expressway, with a right turn towards the Okada community. It takes about 1 hour, 16 minutes, and a distance of 66.2 km.<\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n Ekiti is a state located in the southwestern part of Nigeria. Finding the NYSC permanent orientation camp from Ado-Ekiti takes about 54 54-minute drive, covering a distance of 39.6 km.<\/p>\n This is one of the NYSC orientation camps in the southeastern part of Nigeria. To locate the camp from Enugu town, board a bus going to Awgu from the Holy Ghost axis. It will take a drive of 1 hour, 6 minutes, and a distance of 61.3 km to get to the camp. The shortest route to the camp from Enugu is along the Enugu-Port Harcourt road towards Awgu local government.<\/p>\n It is one of the NYSC temporal orientation camps in the Northeastern part of Nigeria. The orientation camp is easy to find in the capital city. It takes about 25 minutes and a distance of 24.2 km along Bauchi to Gombe road.<\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n The state is in the southeastern part of Nigeria and is yet to gain a permanent site for the NYSC orientation camp. The distance from Owerri to the temporary orientation camp is 37.3 km which takes about 1 hour and 3 minutes.<\/p>\n It is a state in the northwestern part of Nigeria. Getting to the NYSC orientation camp from Dutse, the capital city, takes about 25 minutes at a distance of 34km.<\/p>\n Kaduna is a state that houses one of the largest NYSC permanent orientation camps in the Northwestern part of Nigeria. The camp is along Kaduna to Zaria road. At a distance of 29.4 km in under 35 minutes, one can get to the orientation camp from Kaduna City.<\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n NYSC situated its permanent orientation camp in Kano State at Karaye LGA. To locate the NYSC camp from Kano Airport road takes about 1 hour, 44 minutes, and 92.1 km.<\/p>\n Katsina is a state in the northwestern part of Nigeria. The NYSC permanent orientation camp is located along Mani Road – ten minutes away from the Katsina Airport. From along Daura-Katsina Road, it takes about 7.4 km.<\/p>\n Kebbi State has its NYSC permanent orientation camps in Dakingari LGA. The best route to locate the camp from Birnin Kebbi is along Maidahini, to Dangoma to Kalgo Junction road, and then to Dankingari, which ends at Bunza Road. It takes a distance of 98.5 km and about 1 hour 10 minutes.<\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n The Kogi State NYSC permanent orientation camp is located in the state capital, Lokoja. To find the camp, go through Kabba Road, a distance of 87.3 km. It will take about 1 hour 53 minutes to arrive at the camp.<\/p>\n The NYSC orientation camp in Kwara State is at the Yikpata community of Edu LGA. It is the permanent site that NYSC was able to secure for the orientation of corp members. From Ilorin to the orientation camp takes about 1 hour 48 minutes and covers a distance of 99.3 km.<\/p>\n Lagos has one of the best NYSC permanent orientation camps in the country. The distance from Ikeja to the camp is about 10.3 km, which can be covered within 33 minutes when you take the Oba Akran Ave route.<\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n From the state capital, Lafia, to the NYSC permanent orientation camp in Keffi is a far journey. To get to the camp, one should take the shortest route through Makurdi to Jos express road. It takes about 2 hours and 14 minutes, covering a distance of about 130 km. However, one can still get to the destination through Dome and Lafia road, which will take 2 hours, 54 minutes, and 118 km.<\/p>\n The Niger State orientation camp is located in the state capital, Minna. To find the NYSC orientation camp in Niger State, take a bus from Minna, about 26 minutes and a distance of 20.5 km, straight to the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp at Paikoro Local Government Area.<\/p>\n Getting to the NYSC permanent orientation camp from Abeokuta, the state capital, takes about 50 minutes.
