She is a native of Calabar in Cross River State, Southern Nigeria but grew up in Port Harcourt, River state. Her father, Chief Asido Bassey Effah, was a commander in the <a href=\"https:\/\/buzznigeria.com\/nigerian-navy\/\">Nigerian Navy<\/a>. According to the actress, her father, who died in 2015, was a very stern disciplinarian and trained all his children in the culture of discipline. His burial had numerous top celebrities in attendance, including some of Belinda&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/buzznigeria.com\/nollywood-nigerias-film-industry\/\">Nollywood<\/a> colleagues.<\/p>\n<p>Her mother, whose name is unknown, is still alive and healthy.
