Omah Lay Started Off As a Producer And Songwriter<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Omah Lay’s real name is Omah Stanley Didia. He was born in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on the 19th<\/sup> of May 1997.<\/p>\n

Currently 26, Omah Lay came from a generation of music lovers. His grandfather was a percussionist for highlife singer, Celestine Ukwu and when the legendary musician died in 1976, Omah Lay\u2019s father took up drumming. Omah Lay\u2019s love for music grew even more with being around his father. When he was 15 years old, he started producing music; rapping from time to time in Port Harcourt with a rap group named Lil king.<\/p>\n

Omah even wrote songs for many artists who never thought about giving him credit in their songs. After some time, he got tired of writing songs for others and chose instead to test the waters by trying his hands on doing music professionally.<\/p>\n

His Journey To Fame Through Music<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Omah Lay is no doubt one of many fast-rising Nigerian singers. He has made giant strides in a short period of time stemming majorly from his debut singles Do Not Disturb <\/em>and Hello Brother,<\/em> which he released in 2019. Since then, he has collaborated with some artists like 6lack, Olamide<\/a>, DJ Spinall and even made some features with veterans like Adekunle Gold<\/a> and Wizkid. Omah has two EPs that have accumulated tens of millions of streams and brought about a dedicated army of fans. He named the two EPs Getting Layd <\/em>and What Have We Done<\/em>.<\/p>\n

As a young and talented artist, it didn\u2019t take time before Omah Lay got a record label deal. He was first signed by KeyQaad in June 2019 when he was still in port Harcourt. This signing prompted him to move to Lagos. After KeyQaad, he signed another contract with Damilola Akinwunmi’s Dvpper Music Record Label and he is still with them.<\/p>\n

In January 2020, he teased his Instagram followers with a verse he recorded and the response to it was wonderful, so he decided to make the song available for free as a teaser to his official single.
