Starboy singer, Wizkid, becomes the first Nigerian artiste to ever feature on Billboard Charts, courtesy of Drake who featured the Nigerian pop singer on his new song ‘One dance.’ On 5th April, Drake dropped two singles ‘One dance’ featuring Wizkid and Kyla, and also ‘Pop style’ featuring Kanye West and Jay Z.
Meanwhile, Wizkid already featured Drake in a remix of his popular ‘Ojuelegba‘ hit song. The collaboration was a reality due to the linking hands of Skepta, a friend of Wizkid, who introduced the song to Drake during a Wireless Music Festival held in London. Due to the lovely African rhythm of the song, American singer, Alicia Keys and her husband posted videos of themself dancing to Wizkid’s Ojuelegba on Instagram.
Prior to this big collaboration with Drake, WizKid had worked with other international artistes. They include, Grammy-award winner Angelique Kidjo and Ty Dolla $ign among others. The starboy has also performed with Chris Brown in South Africa at the ‘X Tour’, after-which he announced a song collaboration with the American singer, however the song is yet to be released.
At 25, Wizkid already has a life that is well going for him and a career that pays his bills and fends for his two kids as well as their mamas. According to the starboy, by the time he approaches the age of Linda Ikeji, whom he recently had a quarrel with, his name would be screaming “Wealth” with all the achievements he must have acquired.
All the same, congratulations boy for placing Nigeria on the Billboard Charts.
