Temitope Solaja (born on February 14, 1992; Age: 32 years old) is a Nigerian film actress, screenwriter, and movie producer best known for her role in the popular film “Aruga” from where she got her alias. Tope does not have a husband because she is currently not married. 

Although still recognized as among the upcoming Nigerian stars, Solaja’s success in the movie industry surpasses what many newbies have achieved, and thanks to this, she now joins the league of stars moving the Nigerian entertainment industry to greater heights. Luckily she has received rewards in the form of awards and fame for her efforts.

32 Year Old Temitope Solaja Hails from Ogun state, South Western Nigeria

Temitope Basira Solaja was born on February 14th, 1992, and she is an indigene of Sagamu in Ogun State, Southwest region of Nigeria. She is of the Yoruba tribe of the country, and she spent much of her early years in the region.

There are no reports about her parents and siblings. However, some media reports that she is the first child of a family of six, and none of her siblings seem to have achieved the level of popularity she currently enjoys.

Temitope spent her early years in Ogun state. She reportedly attended Ikene community High school for her secondary education, after which she gained admission at the Tai Solarin University of Education and graduated with a degree in Mass Communication.

How Temitope Solaja Began her 17 Year-Old Acting Career

Temitope happens to be among the many actresses whose present career was a passion nursed since their early years. The Yoruba actress would recall herself mimicking most of her favorite actresses, and even while growing up, she hoped to become a movie star someday.

Her dreams came to fruition when in her first year at the Univesity, she was introduced to a well-applauded Yoruba movie actor, producer, and MC, Afeez Eniola, who was at the University to shoot his movie, “Bamitale.” Bamitale became the stepping stone Solaja needed to join the Nigerian movie industry. However, she credits “Okpolo,” another Yoruba movie, for bringing her to the limelight. The 2009 movie, which also starred other Yoruba actors like Mercy Aigbe, and Funmi Emmanuel Muyideen Oladapo, was produced by Sola Adetunde.

Though largely considered a Yoruba actress, Tope has also appeared in a couple of English-speaking movies. One such movie is the 2015 movie Bella Bella which was written and produced by Tayo Sobola and featured other stars like Yemi Blaq, Bukola Ajayi, and Biodun Okeowo, among a host of others.

Temitope Solaja has played several roles in movies and has produced quite a number of them. The very first movie she is known to produce is titled Aruga. The 2015 movie, which was shot around the Ajah area in Lagos state, Nigeria, starred actors like Biodun Okeowo, Antar Laniyan, and Kayode Olaiya (Aderupoko), among many others.

She also played a vital role in the production of popular Yoruba movies Orente and Empire. She also produced the popular Yoruba Movie Ashebi Akata, which was directed by Ibrahim Yekini and featured stars like Jumoke George, Bimbo Oshin, and Niyi Johnson.

Solaja’s successes in the movie industry have no doubt earned her deserving fame and wealth she currently enjoys. Though not yet a recipient of any award as of the time of writing this piece, Temitope Solaja was nominated for the 2015 and 2017 Best of Nollywood Awards for Best Supporting Actress and Best Actress in a Leading Role, respectively.

Aside from her budding acting career, Solaja is also a successful businesswoman. She owns a fashion store named Star Girl that deals with selected ladies’ wear and Human hair. She is also among the famous socialites making money so much income from endorsing product brands.

Aruga (as she is fondly called) is currently single. She has also not mentioned anyone as her boyfriend or fiance. However, she describes herself as a romantic lady who wishes her man to be caring, understanding, not greedy, and has the fear of God in his heart. She said she would definitely date and marry even her fan, who is caring and loves her job.

Like most Nollywood female stars, Solaja has been involved in a couple of scandals. She was rumored to have had a fight with fellow actress Kemi Afolabi over the famous actor Odunlade Adekola. This resulted in the prominent actor calling both actresses in the public to warn them.

In June 2022, a phone conversation between the Stargirl and Adebanke Adeyeye, better known as Debankee, on their relationship with male colleagues Bolanle Ninalowo and Itele D Icon was leaked online by controversial blogger, Gistlovers. Solaja was rumored to have dated Itele D Icon for a few months and had left him because his wife discovered them.

Tope was also rumored to be pregnant and expecting a baby. However, the actress has not confirmed or debunked the rumor, but she is said to have relocated to the United States of America, where she currently lives.

Temitope is beautiful, creative and talented, and well-blessed with physical qualities. In an interview she granted the media, the budding actress revealed her chest and legs are the driving force that makes her attractive to men at all times and also gets their attention.
