How Is B-Red Related to Davido?

B-Red is a cousin to the popular musician Davido. The former’s father is a younger brother to Davido’s father. B-Red’s father, Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, is a 63-year-old Nigerian politician and businessman.

He served as a Senator representing the Osun-west senatorial district from 2017 to 2019. Currently, he is Governor-elect of Osun State, to assume office on 22nd November 2022.

B-Red Started Singing in 2013

B-Red has always had a passion for music since childhood. He started playing drums and a few other musical instruments at age six, and by the time he was sixteen, he already has mastered his skills and then began to sing and produce songs.

He began singing with his cousin Davido and his older brother Sina Rambo. The three formed a band in Atlanta, Georgia, known as Kb International. However, they later moved to Nigeria as they thought it would be better for them to pursue their music career on their home soil.

Back in Nigeria, in February 2013, B-Red joined and signed a contract with Davido’s HKN Music label and began his career as a solo artist. Concurrently, he dropped his debut song Insane Girl featuring Davido. The RnB single produced by Shizzy soon became a hit and gained wide acceptance by music lovers.

B-Red got his stage name by combining Bayo and Red, where B stands for Bayo, the short form of his name, and Red represents fair skin. Red is a common term used to describe fair-skinned people in the US. The dancehall artist is well known as the “ladies’ favorite” given his attractive appearance and facial looks.

His Rise to Stardom

Just after his debut, B-Red got to tour the world with his cousin and label mate, Davido. Throughout the time, he worked as Davido’s hype man, giving him a large audience and recognition. Further, in September 2015, B-Red accompanied Davido as a supporting artist on the latter’s UK tour. The same year, he dropped his debut international single, Cucumber, featuring the international music icon Akon.

B-Red has collaborated with top musical acts in the Nigerian entertainment industry, such as Tiwa Savage, Don Jazzy, Davido, Lil Kesh, Runtown, CDQ, etc. He collaborated with Tekno on his groundbreaking single Shoki, which went viral and became an instant sensation upon its release.

He prominently featured on two of Davido’s hit tracks from his debut studio album, Omo Baba Olowo. These appearances and collaborations helped boost his fame and establish him in the industry. In 2016, the international music star released an extended play titled All The Way Up.

The project comprises eight songs, including six bonus tracks which were pre-released singles. Between 2015 and 2019, B-Red dropped a lot of singles that enjoyed massive airplay across the country. They include Uju, Twerk, Finally, Lekki Roundabout, Give Them, Overdo, etc. The video to his song Twerk hit a million views within its few months of release.

In April 2019, the HKN signee dropped two songs simultaneously. They are E Better featuring Mavin Record boss Don Jazzy and Achie featuring award-winning singer Davido. On 12th October 2020, B-Red finally released his long-awaited first studio album, The Jordan. In the intro, he featured a guest appearance from his father, Ademola Adeleke, and the legendary singer 2Baba.

Other artists that made guest appearances on the album include Mayorkun, Davido, Slimcase, Perruzi, Sina Rambo, and Dremo. The album earned him tremendous success, with some of its singles becoming several radio and TV stations’ favorites.

B-Red is Happily Married

Adebayo Adeleke, best known as B-Red, is legally married to his wife, Faith Johnson. Their wedding was a private one such that neither the public nor his fans knew he was married. In November 2019, the couple welcomed their first child, a boy named Jordan Adetato Oshioke Adeleke. The singer took to his Instagram to announce the arrival of his first fruit, and fans poured in their congratulatory messages to him.
