American-born Kenyan singer, songwriter, actress and entertainer, Victoria Kimani, is set to release her new album.
Kimani is currently signed on to Chocolate City, and has revealed that her latest album will be released in 2016.
Following her monster hit singles ‘Show’, ‘Two Of Dem’, ‘Prokoto’ and ‘Oya’ featuring Chocolate City President, M.I, Victoria Kimani has revealed her debut album will be titled “Safari.”
The singer made the disclosure while speaking to Elle South Africa. Kimani also disclosed that her debut album will be out some time in the third quarter of the year.
“My album is called Safari which is Swahili for a journey or to travel. Musically, ascetically, fashion wise and sound wise, they are all in sync with my life experiences through travel.
“I found myself on Safari. The project literally sums up my life…this is my first album ever, and I’m so hyped about it.
“I needed people to understand the type of artist I am, so I released several singles in several different regions that ended up being hits.”
Victoria Kimani also revealed that she plans to release her debut album in about five different African countries which will include Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa and possibly a few others.
She said that this album release pattern is another way of legitimizing the soul of the record. The album is expected to have between 12 and 15 songs which would include her 2014 hit single, ‘Immediately’ and will feature production from Chocolate City’s in-house producer Reinhard.
An excited Kimani explained that she has always been an advocate for Africans to take advantage of the continent the way Americans or Europeans take advantage of their space and use it to thrive and become better brands and business people.
