While Professor Cal remains anonymous in the media, Calvin Newport has a face and earns a living as an American non-fiction author. He is also an associate professor of computer science at Georgetown University. In the desperate search to put a face on the name, some media outlets have shipped him off to be Calvin Newport, an American author and associate professor born on June 23, 1982, but they are not the same person.<\/p>\n<p>Due to the high privacy alert on his identity, it has become quite difficult to know what Professor Cal&#8217;s background is like. His actual date of birth and the place he was born has also remained a mystery.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Cal&#8217;s ethnicity is also something his fans would love to know but there is no luck yet in finding out the details. Besides, they love the secret identity strategy, which leaves room for suspense.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Why Was Professor Cal\u2019s Youtube Channel Canceled?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Professor Cal was already a sensation on YouTube when his channel was terminated as a result of some community policy violations. Violation of YouTube policies is a serious offense on the platform and may lead to the cancellation of a channel and Professor Cal had multiple violations attached to his brand. The YouTuber is popular for his NSFW content, some of which YouTube frowned at.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, his recent clips seem to have a more reserved Professor Cal who wants to carry everyone along. Professor Cal is responsible for the creation of his content online. He writes, voices, edits, and publishes his work without any help. The process requires a lot of dedication to pull off and he has proven to be more than capable.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Where Is Professor Cal Now?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Professor Cal is still on YouTube but he went on a one-year hiatus after his video titled &#8216;Hi Everyone&#8217; saw him bid his farewell to his followers. The reason for the break is his apparent guilt over his previous comments about black people and how it must have affected some of his listeners.<\/p>\n<p>In the video, he explained that he now knows better than to draw conclusions about what another race might be going through when he has not walked a mile in their shoes. He also emphasized that his friend who is an African American helped him through the journey.<\/p>\n<p>He also mentioned in the video that there was no way he could refund the money for his Patreon, which some people in the online community were campaigning for as a result of his derogatory comments about the black race. Instead, he announced that the money would be donated to The National Black Women&#8217;s Justice Institute and The Black Women&#8217;s Agenda Inc. These organizations are dedicated to civil rights and the well-being and care of African American women across the country.<\/p>\n<p>After talking about the donations, Professor Cal dropped a bomb on his fans by saying he will take an indefinite break from posting online content to help him learn, grow and become a better person. True to his word, the YouTuber disappeared from the platform for more than a year but he resurface on Sep 6, 2022, with a video titled &#8216;peanut butter choc cake w kool-aid&#8217; which is a song. He followed it up with another video dubbed &#8216;ma I joined a gang,&#8217; which is about the video game, Mafia.<\/p>\n<p>Comments under his last video reveal how much he was missed by his fans. A lot of those who commented were happy they got to hear his dreamy voice one more time. The good news is he seems to be gradually coming back, though he doesn&#8217;t seem to post much on his YouTube channel anymore. He has also not lost his mojo after such a long break from posting on YouTube.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>He Now Has a New Channel<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>If you are one of the die-hard followers of Professor Cal you probably know about his new channel dubbed Cal_. After being sanctioned by YouTube for violations of its policy, Professor Cal didn&#8217;t give up his passion. He surfaced again on the platform on Nov 5, 2020, with a new channel named Cal_. As of November 2022, the channel has garnered over 91.7K subscribers and more than 5 million views on its videos.<\/p>\n<p>The channel Cal_ has only five videos on it as Professor seems to be taking a break from being too active online. His first video was posted on Dec 25, 2020, and two more followed during the same period.
