In 1963, at the young age of 17 years, Jackie already had a home to care for with her husband, Ted Jorgensen, who was 19 at the time. However, this marriage was not one to last forever as Ted&#8217;s unbecoming habits forced Jacklyn out of the marriage.<\/p>\n<p>While they were together, Jacklyn had a son whom she was left with the responsibility of catering to by herself. At the time, while she was struggling as a teen mother, she took secretarial classes in the afternoon. She was later recruited as a secretary even though she thought herself to be a terrible typist as she could not make out shorthand writings.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Ted Theodore Jorgensen was <\/strong><strong>Jacklyn Bezos&#8217;s Teenage Husband<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Ted Jorgensen was Jackie&#8217;s first husband, whom she married in her teen years. Their marriage lasted from 1963 to 1965. At the time of their marriage, Jacklyn was 17 years old while he, Ted, was 19 years old. After they had Jeff, their first and only son together, Ted, who probably felt that being a good husband and father was too much of a job for a 19-year-old boy, started engaging in habits unbecoming of a responsible husband and father.<\/p>\n<p>He formed a habit of drinking heavily, and this put quite a strain on their union. Seventeen months after they had their son, Jacklyn chose to leave the marriage with her young son. Their marriage ended through a divorce in 1965, and three years after that, Jackie met and married her second husband, Mike Bezos.<\/p>\n<p>For the good of their son, Jacklyn asked Ted to stay away from her and her new family, which he agreed to do. Ted owned a bike shop in Arizona, but on March 16, 2015, he died without ever physically setting eyes on his son Jeff again.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Motherhood Made Jackie\u2019s Educational Journey a Tough Fight<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Although raising a child is a full-time job, especially when one is a single parent, Jackie found a way to combine motherhood with her education. She never let her duties as a mother come in the way of her education.<\/p>\n<p>At the time she had Jeff, the school she attended threatened to make her quit schooling, but she would not hear of it. Unrelentingly, she kept pushing back at the school&#8217;s decisions until they finally budged. The school&#8217;s compromise, however, did not come without certain conditions. The school told Jackie that to continue at the school,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2019\/06\/14\/jeff-bezoss-single-teen-mom-brought-him-to-night-school-with-her.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> her stay in the school would be shaped by certain conditions.<\/a><\/p>\n<h3><strong>She Was Segregated from Other Students Because of Her Son<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The first condition was that she would always come to school five minutes before the starting bell rings and leave five minutes after the closing bell. Secondly, she was not allowed to talk to other students. Thirdly, she was not allowed to have her lunch in the school cafeteria.<\/p>\n<p>The last condition was that she was not allowed to walk across the stage to collect her Diploma like the rest of her classmates.
