On the reasons why she set up her pet project “Future Assured,” Mrs Buhari explained to her guest saying;
My passion for alleviating the plight of mothers, children and the adolescent prompted the establishing of my program.
She said the series of intervention projects and initiatives designed for some categories of Nigerians, especially the vulnerable ones, were her modest response to the current challenges affecting women and children in the country.
The Nigerian First Lady said ‘Future Assured’ which focuses on reproductive, maternal, new-born, child and adolescent programmes, among others, have had thousands of women successfully screened of cancer, diabetics, blood pressure among and many others.
The initiatives are therefore intended to give them a `Future that is Assured’ so that they can realize their full potential and contribute meaningfully to national development.

Your visit affords us the opportunity to discuss issues of mutual interest on advocacy for women and children’s rights, promoting girl-child education, addressing women health related issues.
