The Tonto Dikeh Foundation: Despite Marriage Collapse, Actress Gives 200 Students Scholarship


Beautiful Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh has been under a lot of stress as a result of her failed marriage but her own tears notwithstanding, she has put smiles on the faces of 200 families in Delta state Nigeria, through her foundation – The Tonto Dikeh Foundation [TTDF].

A new chapter of life was opened for the people and school students of Delta state as they hosted The Tonto Dikeh Foundation Team in Warri, Delta state, on February 24th, 2017.

The event organised by The Tonto Dikeh Foundation in association with Cheeno HR, was aimed at assisting and encouraging students through their nationwide project tagged: “TTDF Back To School Project”, an idea which was thought up in order to assist the less privileged children and also to make the United Nations sustainable development goals in the area of education and mass literacy in Nigeria a reality.

Expressing his heartfelt gratitude to Tonto Dikeh and her team, for their love and support for education in Delta state, the Commissioner of Education in the state welcomed and applauded the group for their effort.

Speaking during the event, the President of the foundation, Tonto Dikeh returned all the glory to God and thanked the good people of Delta State for offering them an opportunity to serve them.

She also thanked all partners particularly Access Bank that helped with the opening of Savings Account for the 200 students who won Scholarship by The Tonto Dikeh Foundation and other valuable incentives given to all them.

The National coordinator of the Tonto Dikeh foundation, Mr. Bunmi Fagbuyiro, on his part, revealed future plans of the foundation including the renovation of some schools, free whiteboard donation, school uniforms for students and books. He added that TTDF will continue their good works in other parts of the country in the coming months, disclosing that the next on their list is Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The event drew the high and mighty in Delta State’s educational sector and recorded massive turnout of people.

In attendance was the Honourable Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education of Delta State, Hon. (Dr.) Chiedu Ebie and other distinguished members of his cabinet among other prominent personalities.

Principals of Public and Private Schools, Teachers, Students from 11 Local Government Areas in Delta State, the schools including: Sedco Secondary School, College of Commerce Warri, Alegbo Secondary School, Opete Secondary School, Essi College, Warri, Sunset Group of School, Ogbe Secondary School, Ugborikoko Secondary School, etc also graced the remarkable event.
