Taylor Swift Is The Highest Paid Female Musician, Meet Other High Earners


The entertainment business is one lucrative venture to make fast cash. Forbes has just named Taylor Swift the world’s highest paid female musician of 2016.

The 26-year-old superstar made the number one position after she made a sum of $170 million between June 2015 and 2016.

Taylor Swift has several streams of incomes and has massive earnings from a record-breaking North American tour as well as endorsement deals with brands like Diet Coke, Keds and Apple.

She was followed by Adele, who came in No. 2 at $80.5 million, the highest earnings of her career, thanks to album sales and a worldwide tour.

Other female musicians in the top ten included Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears, Shania Twain and Celine Dion.

Beyonce took the number 5 spot this year but Forbes says she might “finish much higher next year, thanks to her Formation World Tour, which grossed over $250 million. Most of that wasn’t counted in this year’s rankings: our list measures income from June 1, 2015, to June 1, 2016 before taxes and management fees.

Meanwhile, American semi-retired professional wrestler, Hulk Hogan is $31 Million richer after Gawker sex tape lawsuit settled him. Hulk took legal action against Gawker in a USD 100 million lawsuit for releasing a video of him having sex with his best friends wife.

The case with Gawker has been on for four years and the two finally reached a settlement of $31 million. According to the New York Times, that was before the courts awarded Hulk Hogan $140 million for damages.
