Smoking: What Does The Bible Have To Say Against It

Aside the fact that smoking is additive and unhealthy, it kills its victims slowly but surely. The bible does not forbid smoking cigarettes or pot directly but it suggests that the human body should be protected by all means and smoking does not in anyway protect the body, rather it harms it. We should be good stewards of our bodies and health experts have said over and over that smoking is bad for physical health.

According to an article on facts about smoking, an average smoker will lose 10 years of his/her life due to smoking. This does not necessarily mean that a smoker will die young. It means he will die 10 years before his actual death date. Also, smoking and exposure to second-hand smoke while pregnant can affect the baby’s growth and development which may lead to low birth weight. These are just the medical implications of smoking. What does the bible say about the act? Find out in this article.
