Veteran Nollywood actor, Segun Arinze, has been criticised by his 20-year-old daughter, Renny Njemanze, for sending her a birthday shout-out online.
On Wednesday, May 10, 2017, the 51-year-old actor who is also known as ‘Black Arrow’ took to his Instagram page to celebrate his daughter on her 20th birthday, but there was an unexpected twist to the celebration when Renny dropped her comments in reply.
“Wow! Time sure does fly! My Daughter Renny is 20!! I wish you great wisdom, good health, long life, deep knowledge and whatever you lay your hands on will prosper.
“You will be a role model to your peers. Ann God bless you for doing a great job! Happy Birthday, Renny,” Arinze wrote on his Instagram page.
But in response, an angry Renny asked him to stop spreading lies, while questioning why her father tagged bloggers in her birthday wish but didn’t have the courtesy to give her a call. She wrote:
“What is the meaning of this sir? You didn’t tag me, you don’t know my IG handle either.
“You’ve tagged other people and bloggers and you didn’t have the courtesy to call me to wish me a happy birthday and you are doing this online?
“What a pity. I would overly appreciate it if you stopped this. God bless.
“One more thing sir, my mother’s name is spelt “Anne” not Ann. Stop being the rain on my parade and stop spreading lies.
“I have never insulted you. STOP THESE LIES.”
Segun Arinze is reportedly a dad of six children from four different women. His relationship with ex-wife, Anne Njemanze produced Renny, two unidentified baby mamas gave him two children while his current wife, Julie has three children for him.
Meanwhile, Adeniyi Johnson, a Nigerian actor and former husband to actress Toyin Aimakhu has said no amount of cyber bullying will bring him down.
In an Instagram post, Johnson who is now in a relationship with fast rising actress, Seyi Edun, said he’s not worried by the hateful comments being thrown at him since he separated from her. For him, it would take more than just comments and hate speech to break him. In his words:
“The problem with Nigerians is that everyone wants to insult you at the same time… please, how will I
read all the insults?
“Why don’t you guys do a meeting and make a roster or list of how to go about it.. like make it an insult per day with that I’ll be able to read all.. else it’s just a waste of time and MB. It will take more than cyber bully to break me, 1 million fake pages can pull no strand.
“The fact that one had an accident doesn’t mean you won’t board another vehicle,” he wrote on Instagram.”
