SA Pastor Who Gave Members Dettol To Drink, Spotted Buying More, Claims He’s Been Receiving ” Amazing Testimonies”
Daily Sun South Africa reports that despite a warning issued by Dettol South Africa, condemning Prophet Rufus Phala.
For forcing members of his church to drink the liquid antiseptic, he was spotted at a local supermarket buying more bottles of Dettol.
We reported last week how Prophet Phala of the Spiritual Christian Church in Limpopo, made his church members drink Dettol antiseptic liquid.
He promised that they will be healed of their sicknesses, adding that the Holy Spirit had instructed him to use the product (Read here).
“I know Dettol is harmful, but God instructed me to use it. I was the first one to drink it.”
He also claimed he has been getting WhatsApp messages from people who say they have been healed.
The Dettol company, however, warned the prophet to stop the practice.
SA Pastor Spotted Buying More Dettol For Members To Drink
This is because oral consumption of its product can endanger health.
Regional Legal Director of Dettol South Africa, Euphemia Annor, said:
“Dettol has been proved to be safe and effective when used as per recommended directions.
“However, it is not for human consumption and is for external use only.
“We are against Prophet Phala using the product inappropriately.”
Even after the company called the prophet on his phone and asked him to stop the practice, he was unperturbed.
When called by Daily Sun South Africa, Phala said he had already bought four bottles of the product for use during Sunday on December 11th.
The Dettol incident took place just a few weeks after another pastor in Limpopo, Prophet Lethebo Rabalago, sprayed his congregation with Doom insect killer to heal and deliver them from evil.
