US President-elect Donald J. Trump on Tuesday officially selected the chief executive of Exxon Mobil, Rex Tillerson, to be his secretary of state.
Trump cited Mr. Tillerson’s business acumen and “broad experience and deep understanding of geopolitics as what made him an excellent choice for Secretary of State
He praised the 64-year-old Republican as one of the world’s most successful businessmen.
Trump in a statement said:
“Tillerson’s career is the embodiment of the American dream.”
He adding that through hard work, dedication and smart deal making, Tillerson rose through the ranks to become CEO of Exxon Mobil.
ExxonMobil is one of the world’s largest and most respected companies.
