Opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has declared its readiness to register Aisha Buhari and give her a membership car.
Wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, Aisha, has been offered an opportunity to join the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
This is following her controversial interview with the BBC where she lambasted the government of her husband as being hijacked by a cabal.
Aisha’s interview with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has generated a lot of controversies recently.
PDP Offers Aisha Buhari Membership Card
Several Nigerians seemed to support the stance of the wife of the President.
Some others have criticized President Buhari for his response.
The PDP has said that it is ready to register the wife of the president and give her a membership card.
Former deputy national publicity secretary of the party, Alhaji Abdullahi Jalo, made this known recently.
Alhaji Jalo was also quoted as comparing President Buhari with Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump.
This is as Buhari had issued a rather debasing response to his wife’s interview while in Germany.
Buhari had said his wife belongs to the kitchen and other rooms.
Donald Trump of the Republican Party has been severally accused of insensitivity to women and sexits views.
The PDP stalwart also accused the president of not liking women.
PDP Offers Aisha Buhari Open Arms Of Fellowship
“Buhari is becoming like a Trump of America whose past time is to scandalize women.
“That statement is very costly.
“…You are turning your wife to be a house maid who has the right (only) to be in your kitchen and in your room.
“That is a costly statement, which will affect his electioneering campaign in 2019 if he decides to contest.
“The implication is that he doesn’t like women. “He is saying that women should not have right to be politicians,”
Jalo further stated that Aisha has now assumed the role of the opposition.
He affirmed that Buhari claims he does not know the party Aisha belongs, then the PDP was ready to give her a membership card.
“As far as I am concerned, she has done the work of an opposition.
“And if she decides to join us, she will have a good reception.”
Jalo further warned that there could be serious consequence in 2019 if Buhari fails to heed her advice.
