Former Abia State Governor, Orji Uzor Kalu, has informed Nigerians that President Buhari’s health has improved considerably, revealing when the President will return to Nigeria.
While speaking to journalists at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, on Sunday, Orji Uzor Kalu who visited President Buhari in London last week, also urged Nigerians to desist from spreading falsehood about the President’s health, adding that it was inhumane and not in the best interest of the country. Rather, he enjoined Nigerians to pray for the President to enable him to recover fast and return to his duty post.
OUK who said he visited London to have a first-hand knowledge of Buhari’s state of health also disclosed that the President would be returning to Nigeria before June 11th. Hear him:
“I went to Washington DC, United States, to visit some business partners and from there stopped over in London to see the President, who is recovering very fast. I am excited about the state of health of President Buhari despite the hate-messages people were spreading about him.
“I am disappointed with the statement coming from some Nigerians about the health of the President. The messages some Nigerians have been spreading in the social media are unhealthy. I am calling on Nigerians to have a change of heart.”
The former governor said further that it would be wrong to embark on an assessment of the duties of the Acting President, whom he said, was carrying out constitutional duties and should continue to do so.
Noting that the Buhari-led government had done well in the fight against insurgency and the war against corruption, Orji Uzor Kalu said:
“The government has done well, but there is a lot of suffering in the land. The masses are suffering; going through economic problems. The administration has done well but must obey the laws of the land by respecting judicial processes. The government must pursue the hardware and software of democracy and that includes the rule of law and respect for the constitution.”
Meanwhile, wife of the President, Aisha Buhari has also disclosed that her husband will be returning to Nigeria soon while thanking Nigerians for all the prayers for the President.
Aisha Buhari who is currently with President Buhari in the UK where he is receiving medical treatment has assured Nigerians that he is getting better and enjoined everyone to continue praying for him.
In a message to the 23rd Annual Ramadan Lecture of Ansar-ud-deen Society of Nigeria (ADS) held in Abuja, the First Lady represented by her senior special assistant on Administration, Dr. Hajo Sani said:
“My husband is recovering very fast. And very soon, he will return to the country to resume his official duties.
“I thank Nigerians for their prayers for my husband. Please, do not relent in your prayers. The President will be back very soon.”
The President’s wife also expressed hopes that she will observe this year’s Eid-el-Kabir festival at the ADS Mosque in Maitama as she had been doing even before getting into office.
