Omoni Oboli is one seasoned actress in Nigeria that is among the hottest women in Nollywood. She has a great sense of dressing that usually complements her afro-textured hair and fine face. No wonder Nigerian designer, Ayo Van Elmar endorsed her as the face of his brand’s Spring/Summer 2016 “Fishbone” Collection. In an editorial shoot titled ‘Table de Billiard’, Omoni poses by a billiard table in different attires.
According to the designer,
“The shoot depicts strength in the beginning and victory at last. May triumph prevail eventually and may the girl child in our nation and everywhere on planet earth, be forever playing the winning game of freedom, may she grow to express her rights to life and development, and above all, her rights to equality before the law.”
The native of Delta and Benin-born diva, celebrated her 38th birthday on 22 April. Omoni has been married to her husband since 2000 and is a proud mother of three boys. Her marriage is among the few in Nollywood industry that is void of drama and controversy and must have been the inspiration behind her husband’s newly released book “Marriage For Better For Us.”
Omoni Oboli is a graduate of Foreign Languages from the University of Benin – majored in French. She started acting in 1996, however, went on a 10-year break to start a family, after which she came back fully.
In 2010, Mrs Oboli received her first award as an actress in the award-winning film The Figurine. Same year she won the award for Best Actress – Narrative Feature at the Los Angeles Movie Awards, and the award for Best Actress at the Harlem International Film Festival.
Currently, she produces her own movies and her latest production is “Wives on Strike.” The movie was premiered on April 3rd 2016 and started showing at the cinema five days afterwards. So far, Omoni Oboli’s Wives on Strike is gaining recognition, attracting positive comments as well as resources in Nigerian Box Office.
